Tamil Nadu is among the states which do not provide land for National Highway projects says the Union Minister
is among the very few states where a large number of National High Way projects
are held up due to state government's failure to provide the necessary land
through acquisitions, Union Minister of state for highways Gen V K Singh
informed the Lok Sabah last week.
Minister however did not provide details about the number of projects held up
due to failure to acquire lands in Tamil Nadu. The other states which share the
honours with Tamil Nadu include Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra

Tamil Nadu are also stuck up due to non availability of land.

various reasons such as poor performance by developers and problems in land
acquisition besides regulatory hurdles.

States and solve the land acquisition issues for expediting availability of
land, he said.

the pre-construction activities, strengthening of Land Acquisition Units by way
of providing manpower and resources and effective formal public consultations
at the time of project preparation to address the concerns of public, he added.
Some HAM projects yet to secure financial
minister added that there are some HAM projects which are yet to secure
such projects are in Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
