Chennai Port concessions for vessels carrying out crew change including a 6 hour free stay at the berth
In a bid to
woo the main line vessels which of late have been skipping east coast ports, Chennai
port had announced concessions on vessel related charges for ships coming to
the port merely for bunkering and crew change purposes.
has also announced that a 6 hour free stay at the berth for a vessel entering
the port with the sole purpose of undertaking crew change. Thereafter the usual
berth charges will be levied by the port for the entire period of stay at the berth
as per the scale of rates 220.127.116.11.
Chennai port’s concessions: 75% in port
dues for bunkering or crew change
has announced reduction by 75 per cent in Port dues for vessels entering the
port for bunkering or to resort to crew change. The said vessel should not
enter into the closed harbor to avail of this facility. A separate bunkering
berth is nearing completion at the port.
Concession of 50 per cent in Port Dues for “Vessels entering the port but does
not discharge or take in any cargo or passengers therein (except materials
required for repair purpose), including vessels entering the port only for
bunkers and/or crew change”. These concessions will be applicable with
immediate effect according to the trade notice issued by the port authorities.
