The Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) flagged off the first container
train for ICD Barhi near Sonepet in Haryana to the Gaujarat port Mundra on
November 20, 2020 with 90 containers.
CONCOR has already moved trains with 90 containers from the Haryana Inland
container depote at Barhi to another Gujarat port Pipavav.
Through CONCOR"s transhipment hub at Khatuwas near Rewari, it moves
double-stack container trains consolidating containers from various ICDs to
Mundra and Pipavav ports and vice versa.
Situated in the Sonepat District of Haryana, this ICD caters to the
industrial catchment areas of Delhi (30 km), Jajhar, Rohtak, Jind, Kaithal,
Saharanpur Mujjafarnagar, etc. Barhi has direct connectivity to NH-44 (GT Road)
through a 60-metre wide road and connects with KMP Express Highway at 25 km
near Rai Industrial Area node.

for all kinds of import and export and domestic containerised rail movement
A CONCOR spokesperson said that the new ICD Barhi,
spread over 61 acres, is open for all kinds of import and export as well as
domestic containerised rail movement. The terminal is also notified as a PFT
under the Railways’ PFT policy and has two full-length sidings to accommodate
container trains as well as railway rakes for break-bulk traffic. The ICD has
regular connectivity with Mundra and Pipavav ports.
