The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the state's Export Policy
2020-25 that focuses on doubling farmers’ income, boosting agriculture exports,
Make in UP and Make in India.
A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of the state cabinet
headed by chief minister Adityanath on November 24th and the details were
issued in a press statement.
“This is for the first time that such an elaborate export policy is being
rolled out in Uttar Pradesh,” said the statement.
This policy’s
objectives
This policy envisages simplification of the export process, early disposal
of export-related forms of various departments of the state through a
single-window system and troubleshooting exporters’ problem by the Export
Promotion Bureau, development and promotion of Make in UP and Make in India
brands
The policy aims to promote development and competitiveness in the field of
exports, provide necessary export-related assistance and services to export
subsidiaries and establish and develop technical and physical infrastructures
to increase exports from the state industries.
Key focus areas of the Export Policy Uttar
Pradesh 2020-25 include handicrafts, agriculture and processed food products,
engineering goods, handloom and textile, leather products, carpets and rugs,
glass and ceramic products, wood products, sports goods, defence products,
services sector, education, tourism, IT and ITES, medical value travels and
logistics.

A pivotal aim of the policy is doubling the income of farmers and also
increasing exports from the agricultural sector. It will adopt all those
components which are not covered by the Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Promotion
Policy for doubling farmers’ income. The policy envisages e-Haat portal for the
sale and purchase of animals.
