Cargo complex comes up at Kannur International airport

A cargo complex with an annual capacity of 12,000 metric tonnes was commissioned at Kannur International airport in North Kerala to benefit the EXIM trade in the Malabar region. The size of the cargo complex is around 1200 square meters.

The complex was commissioned by the state chief minister Pinnarayi Vijayan. Efforts are being made to introduce more services, including those of foreign airlines, from the airport, said the CM. The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating the complex online.

The Civil aviation Minister  Hardeep Singh Puri, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion said the opening of the cargo complex will help facilitate new opportunities for farmers and industries to find untapped markets and reach customers in quick time..

The Minister said the 4th International Airport in Kerala at Kannur, which has been set up on public-private-partnership model, will also get a 6,000 sq. m international cargo terminal soon
