Assam advocated improvement in connectivity with neighboring Bangladesh through waterways airways and roadways

Assam Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal made this suggestion with the Bangladesh High commissioner to India Muhammad Imran called on him at Gawahati on February 26th

Sonowal said that since Assam is a next-door neighbour of Bangladesh, there should be frequent exchange programmes between both the regions

Assam and Bangladesh should explore markets for mutual benefit

While highlighting areas like agriculture, agricultural products, information technology, textiles, Sonowal said both Assam and Bangladesh should work to explore markets in their respective territories for mutual benefit

Sources said Imran discussed a range of issues of bilateral interest. During the discussion, Sonowal flagged issues concerning bilateral trade and commerce for the mutual interest of both Bangladesh and Assam.
