MSC launches standalone service connecting Asia and Southeast India

MSC announced the launch of its new weekly service, Osprey, between Asia and Southeast India. The Osprey service will offer a direct route and improve transit times between the Asian and Southeast Indian markets, opening new opportunities for importers and exporters in the region and providing increased connectivity between these important trade hubs, according to an official release from MSC.

Osprey complements the existing MSC inter-Asia service called Shikra, enabling MSC to provide its customers with more comprehensive coverage of the entire Asia-India network. The first sailing will depart from Shanghai on July 23, 2024, with vessel MSC SOMYA voyage number SO430A, says the release.

The rotation of the service is as follows: Shanghai – Ningbo – Singapore – Colombo – Ennore – Visakhapatnam – Shanghai MSC connects Ningbo to Ennore in 15 days, Ningbo to Visakhapatnam in 17 days and Ningbo to Kolkata (via Visakhapatnam) in 19 days, the release added.
