Hapag-Lloyd implements new peak season surcharges worldwide

The German ocean carrier will apply a PSS from India to Africa, effective from 15 July. The surcharge will be as follows:India to Tanzania and Kenya: US$1,000 per container; India to South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia: US$500 per container; India to Angola, Republic of the Congo, Demoratic Republic of the Congo (D.R.C.), Cameroon, Gabon, Sao Tomas, Equatorial Guinea, Benin, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauretania, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Senegal and Togo: US$500 per container

Hapag-Lloyd will implement another PSS from South Africa, Djibouti and Sudan to all destinations worldwide except for France (Fos-sur-Mer& Marseille), Egypt, Spain, Gibraltar, Italy, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Cyprus, Algeria, Morocco, Malta, Libya, Tunisia, Greece, Türkiye and Ukraine.

The surcharge will be applicable to all dry 20', 40' and 45' containers:From South Africa: US$200 per container; From Djibouti: US$250 per container and From Sudan: €250 per container

Moreover, the Hamburg-based container line will introduce a PSS of US$250/container from Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, Estonia, Iceland and Luxembourg to Saudi Arabia (Eastern Province: Dammam and Jubail), Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq and Qatar.

This surcharge from North Europe to Arabian Gulf will be applicable for 20’ and 40’ standard boxes, 40 high cube containers and reefers.
