BMW announces global safety recalls, including units in the Philippines

The recall focuses on problems with the electronic starter, water pump, and integrated brake modules, potentially affecting a large number of vehicles around the world. This decision follows thorough internal investigations by BMW, which revealed issues that could affect the safety and performance of the vehicles.

 

The most critical recall involves the integrated brake modules. Initially announced in February 2024 for 80,000 vehicles, BMW expanded this recall in August 2024 to cover an additional 278,000 vehicles. The defect could lead to increased stopping distances or, in severe cases, brake failure. The recall now includes the 2023-2025 BMW i5, 7 Series, i7, X1, X2, X3, X5, X6, X7, and XM models in the United States. This recall is particularly urgent due to its potential to directly impact vehicle safety and driver control
