Institute of Nautical Sciences (RLINS) at Madurai
reached another milestone of completing twenty-five
years in Maritime Training. In this remarkable journey, the institute crossed
many hurdles and encountered many challenges. The institute proudly
reminiscences the successful accomplishments of its glorious past and rejoices in the achievements of offering quality
maritime education by upholding
the tenets of discipline and integrity. Certainly, the day 28TH
September 2024 will be evergreen in
the annals of RLINS since on that day we celebrated the Silver Jubilee of our
esteemed institute.
The Chief Guest of the function was Dr.Sanjay Bhavnani, COO and Director, MMS Maritime India. He was piloted by RLINS cadets from the main gate and later he proceeded to Vidya Ganapathy Temple, the Campus deity, to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Then our chief guest hoisted the national flag on the parade ground at 8:30 A.M and took the guard of honour. He was also accompanied by Capt.Soubhagya R. Das, Head, Learning and Development and Mr.Ashok Advani, Placement , EX GM,PIL. Then the venue was shifted to the RLINS auditorium where the main function was held. The Silver Jubilee programme started at 10:45 A.M with the lighting of Kuthuvilakku, a traditional lamp, by the guests on the stage and followed by invocation of the national song’’ Vande Matharam’’ and ‘’Tamilthai Vazhthu’’.Capt.V.Gnana Edison Raj, Principal RLINS delivered a welcome address. Dr.R.Lakshmipathy, President, RLINS delivered the presidential address delineating upon the inception of the institute and also recalled the days when he started this institute braving all odds with the support extended by the former principal Mr. Subramanian. Thereafter felicitation message received from Jt Secretary Dr. D. Ramasubbu was read by Vice Principal Dr Kumarasamy as he could not attend the celebration.
