Chennai Port observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with a pledge taking ceremony followed by a "Run for Unity - Ekta Run” by Officers and Employees of Chennai Port and Kamarajar Port. The Ekta Run was flagged off by the chief guest, Padma Shri and Khel Ratna Awardee Sharath Kamal, who in his address highlighted how sports fosters unity and fellowship among people. He inspired participants to embrace the spirit of unity that this Ekta Run symbolizes and to incorporate it into their daily lives.
Shri Sunil Paliwal, I.A.S, Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority & Chairman, Kamarajar Port Limited in his address pointed out the need to focus on unity and integrity, which are vital for the nation’s progress. He emphasized on the shared responsibility to create a sense of belonging and to celebrate the unity in diversity that strengthens the country.
