‘Advantage Vidarbha’ expected to attract Rs 50,000cr investments: Gadkari

The event, organised by the Association for Industrial Development (AID), will take place from February 7 to 9 at Nagpur University’s campus off Amravati Road. Highlighting the region’s industrial progress, Gadkari, while briefing the media, stated, “Significant investments in steel industries are being made in Nagpur and Gadchiroli divisions. With the chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ presence at the event, more investment agreements are likely to be finalised.” He added that Gadchiroli, one of the most underdeveloped districts, is on the path to becoming Maharashtra’s top revenue-generating district within the next five years.

The minister also informed that 26-27 Falcon business jets will be completely assembled at the Dassault Reliance Aerospace plant here in the next two years.

‘Advantage Vidarbha 2025′ aims to position Vidarbha as a global industrial hub by showcasing its strategic advantages, connectivity, and growth potential. National and international policymakers, investors, industrialists, entrepreneurs, and academicians will participate in the summit. The city MP emphasised his commitment to making Nagpur the logistics capital of India. He highlighted the ongoing development of Ajni railway station and the repurposing of funds allocated to the Sindhi Dry Port. He also mentioned the large-scale expansion of MIHAN, which was proposed to the CM, along with a Rs 670-crore dairy project by Mother Dairy.

The event will also focus on various sectors, including steel, mining, tourism, bamboo, IT, logistics, education, and renewable energy. Special emphasis will be placed on fostering the startup ecosystem.
The event will feature prominent dignitaries such as Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal, state revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and Maha industry minister Uday Samant, apart from CM Devendra Fadnavis. Business stalwarts, including JSW Group chairman Sajjan Jindal, Lloyds Steel MD B Prabhakaran, and startup leaders like Aman Gupta (boAt) and Vaibhav Kapoor (Pristyn Care), will also participate.

Union minister Nitin Gadkari called upon industries from Vidarbha’s districts — Wardha, Amravati, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Bhandara — to participate actively in the event and contribute to the region’s development. He outlined plans to promote Vidarbha as a preferred investment destination with infrastructural support and favourable policies. On a concluding note, the Union minister and other dignitaries paid tribute to the victims of the explosion at Bhandara Ordnance Factory. They also unveiled the official Advantage Vidarbha T-shirt and encouraged stakeholders to actively engage in the event to leverage its immense opportunities for industrial growth.

The mega event will host over 300 stalls, with 100 reserved for MSMEs, and to date, 170 have been booked. Govt departments such as SEBI, CBIC, GST, and the ministry of steel and mines will showcase services alongside private enterprises.  The organisers have called on Vidarbha’s industries to come forward and support this milestone event aimed at transforming the region into a hub of industrial excellence.
