The Indian Navy has swiftly responded to a hijacking
incident in the Arabian Sea involving a Malta-flagged vessel that was heading
towards the coast of Somalia, according to media reports.
In a prompt reaction, the Indian Navy diverted its Naval
Maritime patrol aircraft, currently engaged in surveillance in the region, as
well as a warship on an anti-piracy patrol in the Gulf of Aden, to locate and
assist MV Ruen.
The aircraft conducted an
over flight of the hijacked vessel on early December 15th morning and has since
maintained continuous monitoring of its movements.
On December 16th, the Indian Navy's warship,
deployed on a mission in the Gulf of Aden for anti-piracy patrol, successfully
intercepted MV Ruen.
The Indian Navy is actively
engaged in addressing the situation and ensuring the safety and security of the
vessel and its crew.
