An Israeli logistics firm has identified an alternate route to move cargo
from Dubai to Adani run Haifa Port in the light of blockade of Suez canal by
the Houthi rebels for the past two months

start-up Trucknet plans to move cargo by road between Dubai and Haifa port in
Israel, using Saudi Arabia and Jordan as transit routes. While Trucknet cannot
match the volume moved by sea, it can transport urgent goods such as medicines,
according to media reports.
Cargo from Mumbai or
Mundra Ports can be sent to Jebel Ali, then by road to Haifa, and finally by
ship to reach ports in Europe or the US.
Trucknet recently entered into a land bridge agreement with UAE-based counterpart Puretrans FZCO and DP World of Dubai, which will reduce transit time by 80 per cent compared to Maritime routes. This solution comes as global trade faces challenges due to attacks by Yemen-based Houthi militants, resulting in a rise in transit time and freight costs, as per the report.
