Being the first company to have participated in direct
air cargo operations, India’s biggest producer of stainless steel has created
history.
The first-ever
direct shipment from BPIA was flagged off in the presence of prominent
dignitaries such as the Minister of MSME Department, Pratap
Keshari Deb; Principal Secretary of MSME Department, Saswat Mishra (IAS); and
Principal Secretary of the Department of Commerce and Transport, Usha Padhee
(IAS).
Abhyuday Jindal, the Managing Director of Jindal
Stainless, conveyed his enthusiasm and underscored the significance of this
development in amplifying Odisha’s export potential and fostering economic
growth in the region. He highlighted the positive impact on employment
opportunities and viewed the utilization of air cargo capabilities at
Bhubaneswar airport as a mutually beneficial situation.
Deepak Agrawal, the Unit Head of Jindal Stainless’s
Jajpur manufacturing facility, praised the collaboration among stakeholders,
airport management, and the local government. He emphasized the company’s
commitment to dismantling barriers, promoting expansion, and transforming the
production environment.
Utilizing
state-of-the-art equipment, the BPIA can now efficiently manage approximately
1,000 metric tonnes of international freight annually, enabling direct
shipments to various nations
