a variety of greens swaying in the Garden of Five Senses welcomed Delhiites
at the recently concluded 36th Garden Tourism Festival. Organised by Delhi
Tourism, the fest drew over 5,000 visitors in its three-day run. The fest welcomed spring with its theme
‘Earth laughs in flowers.’
Visitors were drawn
to floral, life-sized figures of animals and birds, along with lush potted
plants arrangements, making for perfect selfie points.

Talking about the same, a horticulture department official, said, “Gul khil
rahe hain matlab bhoomi hass rahi hai. The
festival included a competition within 32 categories of plants like
succulents, flowers like dahlias, lilies, roses, chrysanthemums, potted plants,
tray gardens, hanging plants, bonsai, and cut flowers, to name a few. This
festival aims to attract people to nature.”

Ranging between Rs
300 to Rs 40,000, the garden sale area offered small plants like succulents and
seasonal flowers like ranunculus to old, exotic plants like olive and ficus.
Many visitors took
home new plants, gardening tools etc from the garden sale.
