HIMT
College, Kalpakkam hosted the Passing Out Ceremony for ETO 29 Batch, graced by
the esteemed presence of Dr. Rajoo Balaji, the Pro Vice Chancellor of Indian
Maritime University, a notable figure in the Marine Industry. Hei was warmly welcomed by Shri. Sanjeev S
Vakil, CEO of HIMT, along with Mr. Tirth S Vakil and Capt. Anand Subramaniam,
Principal of HIMT. The ceremony commenced with a colorful Ceremonial Parade,
where the Chief Guest took salute, symbolizing respect for the visiting
dignitaries.
Following
introductions and greetings with the faculty, Dr. Rajoo Balaji, accompanied by
Shri. Sanjeev S Vakil, Mr. Tirth S Vakil, Capt. Anand Subramaniam, and faculty
members, embarked on a comprehensive tour of the campus. Dr. Rajoo Balaji was
impressed by the array of machinery and equipment available at the college. He
lauded the state-of-the-art facility and the educational opportunities it
offers. The tour also included visits to various laboratories such as the
Electrical and Automation Labs, BSW and AMW workshops, SS Lab, and the striking
Virtual Reality Lab, all of which left Dr. Rajoo Balaji in awe of the
facilities provided for the education and training of cadets.
The
ceremony commenced with the lighting of the Kuthuvilakku by the Chief Guest, CEO,
and Principal. Following tradition, Dr. Rajoo Balaji was presented with a
bouquet of roses and a Ponnadi by Mr. Tirth S Vakil. Shri Sanjeev S Vakil, in
his address, expressed gratitude to Dr. Rajoo Balaji for gracing the college
with his presence and emphasized the importance of Electric Technical Officers
in the future of the Marine Industry, inspiring the cadets with words of safety
and best wishes for their future endeavors.
Dr.
Rajoo Balaji then addressed the cadets, reminiscing about his academic journey
with HIMT and commending the college for its growth. He congratulated the
passing out cadets and stressed the responsibility of Indian seafarers in
upholding the country's reputation in the marine field globally. Sharing
insights into the evolving marine industry along with various quotes and the
importance of continuous learning, he concluded with motivational quotes urging
the cadets to never stop learning and pushing forward in their careers. The
speech concluded with a presentation of a memento as a token of gratitude.
Subsequently,
faculty members delivered inspirational speeches, and the cadets took an Oath
of Pledge led by Mr. V. Ganpati Rao, C/E. The event proceeded with the Prize
Distribution Ceremony, where the Rank Holders of the ETO 29 Batch were
recognized and awarded for their achievements. Cadets expressed their gratitude
towards the faculties and the college for their support and guidance,
concluding the event with a photo session capturing memories of batch ETO 29
with the faculties. The ambiance was filled with a sense of accomplishment and
anticipation for the promising future ahead.
