In this present competitive era, there is immense need to enhance
the practical overhauling and troubleshooting skills in various
auxiliary machinery such as pumps, purifiers, compressors, engines,
boilers, refrigeration etc., and Hydraulic Equipment is no exception!
Based on the encouraging response for first 13 courses starting with the
Inaugural Course held in July 2020 The Mumbai Branch of IME(I)
is starting with the 14th Course on 28th TO
30th March 2024 of this specifically
designed Course in Basic Hydraulics with following objectives and
respective topics to achieve the Goal.

of hydraulic systems.

5. Hydraulic Fluids and their properties.
6. Comparing properties of various types
of Hydraulic Oils.
7. Filters, Hydraulic Hoses and other fittings.
8. Different Hydraulic Pumps, Advantages of Positive
Displacement Pump, Principle of Operation.
9. Principle of Operation of Different Positive Displacement
Pumps, Understanding Principle of Operation of Direction,
10. Pressure and Flow Control Valves. Symbolic Representation of Pumps, Valves
and Actuators.
11. Designing Basic Circuits with the use of symbols, Tracing
circuit diagram of Steering Gear, Grab System, Ballast Valve
operating System, Windlass Hydraulic System,
Crane Hydraulic System. Overhauling of Direction Control Valve,
Pressure Relief Valve, Sequence Valve, Counterbalance Valve, 4/3 way
Directional Control Valve, Fixed Displacement Swash Plate Pump, Radial
Piston Hydraulic Motor, Linear Actuators etc.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting.
The entire Program has been designed to undergo On-line through web-based
video-conferencing platform Zoom. On successful completion
of the Course the Candidate will be awarded
the Certificate subject to clearing the assessment.
