This initiative not only underscores the company’s commitment to innovation
and sustainability but also sets a new benchmark for the logistics and
warehousing sector in the region.
Spread across a 15-acre private
campus with 5 lakh sq.ft. of storage space, the newly launched facility is one
of the largest 3PL multiclient facilities in India, equipped with
state-of-the-art fire and safety compliance measures. The warehouse proudly boasts a capacity to store up to 450 kW of solar
energy, generating an impressive 6.10 lakh units of energy annually and saving
approximately 4,93,057 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year. This initiative
is complemented by rainwater harvesting and a fleet of EV and CNG vehicles for
green distribution, highlighting LP Logiscience’s holistic approach to
minimizing its environmental footprint while ensuring operational excellence.
IMCD, a global leader in
specialty chemical ingredients, has chosen this green warehouse for their
storage needs, reflecting their commitment to sustainability and
operational efficiency. Narendra Varde, Managing Director of IMCD India
and Bangladesh, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the
positive impact on the value chain and the contribution to community
development through solar electricity support to nearby villages. This
collaboration between LP Logiscience and IMCD is a testament to the growing
importance of sustainable practices in the logistics sector.
With the inauguration of this
solar-powered facility, LP Logiscience not only reinforces its position as a
pioneer in sustainable warehousing solutions but also sets the stage for future
developments in the sector. The company plans to further
accelerate digital adoption, expand its geographical reach, and establish
additional state-of-the-art green warehousing facilities across the country.
This vision is aligned with the growing global emphasis on sustainability and
the need for the logistics sector to adapt to environmental challenges while
maintaining operational efficiency and enhancing employee well-being.
The launch of the solar-powered warehouse
in Bhiwandi by LP Logiscience is more than just a milestone in green logistics; it represents a shift towards a more
sustainable and efficient future for warehousing and logistics in India and
beyond. As companies like LP Logiscience and IMCD lead by example, the
sector is poised for transformative changes, paving the way for a greener, more
sustainable world.
