GEMS Dubai American
Academy (DAA) hosted its 12th annual Career Conference,
offering sophomore students an enriching opportunity to explore a wide array of
potential career paths. The event featured distinguished guest speakers from
various industries, empowering students to make informed decisions about their
future career endeavors.
To inspire the Grade 10
students with real-world experiences, the conference hosted a total of 31
career presentations. Notable among the speakers was NIKEEL IDNANI (CEng,
CMarEng, FIMarEST, MBA), Honorary Secretary, IMarEST UAE branch, a former
Chief Engineer, who shared his insights on the field of Marine Engineering.
In his presentation titled
'Navigating the Waves of Marine Engineering,' Nikeel delivered a thorough
overview of the profession, reflecting the IMarEST's dedication to inspiring
the next generation in maritime. Covering key aspects like roles, skills,
challenges and benefits, he aimed to enlighten students about the dynamic
opportunities in the field, crucial for shaping the future workforce of the
industry.
Highlighting the
importance of critical thinking and attention to detail in the complex
environment of a ship, Nikeel encouraged students to consider Marine
Engineering as a fulfilling and dynamic career choice. He emphasized the
