KIA handled a total of 439,524 metric
tonnes (MT) of cargo, marking a notable 7.1% increase from the previous
financial year. This included 266,186 MT
of international cargo, showing a growth of 4%, and 173,338 MT of domestic
cargo, experiencing a robust 13% rise compared to the preceding year.
The airport’s cargo operations expanded
to serve 33 destinations in FY ’24, up from 25 destinations in FY ’23. Notably,
KIA’s top five export destinations were LEJ (Leipzig/Halle), CGN (Cologne
Bonn), ORD (Chicago O’Hare), DXB (Dubai), and SIN (Singapore Changi).
Additionally, new routes were introduced to support
cargo transportation, with a focus on enhancing connectivity.
The growth in cargo throughput underlines KIA’s increasing importance as a key
hub for freight movements, both domestically and internationally.
