This
year’s convocation holds particular significance as the Central University of
Tamil Nadu recently achieved an impressive A+ (A Plus) ranking with a score of
3.44 in the second cycle of accreditation and assessment by the National
Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This remarkable leap from B++ to A+ highlights the university’s
commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.
During the convocation proceedings, degrees were conferred upon 854 graduates,
representing a diverse group of achievers with 467 females and 387 males.
Central University of Tamil Nadu’s
VIIIth Convocation was presided over by Honourable Chancellor of CUTN, Padma
Bhushan Prof. G. Padmanaban, in the presence of Prof. M. Krishnan, Vice
Chancellor, and other top officials of the University.. Also in attendance were
deans, heads, faculty, officers, staff, scholars, students, and proud parents.
Honourable
Chancellor of CUTN, Padma Bhushan Prof. G. Padmanaban said in his address, “I
encourage students to pursue vocations that not only fulfil their aspirations
but also contribute meaningfully to society. The pursuit of knowledge and innovation should be accompanied by a
sense of responsibility towards one’s community and nation”…While speaking
about the new accreditation system of NAAC, Honourable Chancellor of CUTN,
Padma Bhushan Prof. G. Padmanaban said,
“NAAC’s pivotal role in driving the reforms underscores its commitment to quality
assurance in Indian higher education. These initiatives herald a new era of accountability
and excellence in academia.”
Prof M
Krishnan, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Tamil Nadu, congratulated the
graduates for their achievements, their parents for their steadfast support,
and faculty and staff members for their committed service during his address…Prof
Krishnan, Vice Chancellor added, “Through initiatives like the Unnat Bharat
Abhiyan programme, we are making a tangible impact on the lives of people in
our adopted villages, providing essential amenities and fostering community
development.” He stated, Our Skill Hub Programme aims to empower our students
with essential vocational skills, ensuring they are not just job-seekers but
job creators, contributing to the nation’s skilled workforce.”
