These projects are a part of the
Centre’s plan to offer 53 projects worth over Rs 2.2 trillion, covering 5,200
km, under BOT mode over the next three to five years.
Recently,
the government amended the model concession agreement (MCA) to make the model
attractive for the private sector. If successful, this could mark the comeback
of the public-private-partnership (PPP) projects in roads and highways.
