MSC announced the launch of its new
weekly service, Osprey, between Asia and Southeast India. The Osprey service
will offer a direct route and improve transit times between the Asian and
Southeast Indian markets, opening new opportunities for importers and exporters
in the region and providing increased connectivity between these important
trade hubs, according to an official release from MSC.
Osprey complements the
existing MSC inter-Asia service called Shikra, enabling MSC to provide its customers with more
comprehensive coverage of the entire Asia-India network. The first sailing will
depart from Shanghai on July 23, 2024, with vessel MSC SOMYA voyage number
SO430A, says the release.
The rotation of the service is as
follows: Shanghai – Ningbo – Singapore – Colombo – Ennore – Visakhapatnam –
Shanghai MSC connects Ningbo to Ennore in 15 days, Ningbo to Visakhapatnam in
17 days and Ningbo to Kolkata (via Visakhapatnam) in 19 days, the release
added.
