The scope of work includes the design, supply,
installation, operation and maintenance of two shore unloaders at NCB-III berth
and conveyor system from NCB-III berth to the stackyard at Hare Island and the
development of the stackyard.
The project involves the
mechanisation of NCB-III at VOC port for handling coal in Tamil Nadu through a
public-private partnership mode on a design, build, finance, operate and
transfer basis. The capacity of the berth will be 6.96 million tonnes per
annum. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 3.56 billion.
