Dakshin
Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT) organized an Eye Camp specifically for Truck Drivers
in Gangaikondan. This event is part of DBGT’s ongoing Corporate
Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at improving the Health and Safety
of those in the logistics sector.
Held on 31.07.2024, the
eye camp provided comprehensive eye examinations to truck drivers, ensuring
that their vision is optimal for the demanding tasks they undertake daily.
Recognizing the critical role that clear vision plays in road safety, DBGT took
proactive measures to address this often-overlooked aspect of health.
The
event was staffed by experienced eye care professionals who conducted thorough
eye check-ups. Drivers with vision impairments were identified at the camp and
those requiring corrective lenses were provided with prescription eyeglasses
free of charge. This initiative ensures that truck drivers are not only aware
of their eye health but are also equipped to correct any vision problems,
thereby enhancing their safety and performance on the road.
DBGT’s
goal is to support the well-being of our truck drivers in every possible way.
Good vision is essential for their safety and efficiency and through this eye
camp, we aim to ensure that no driver is hindered by poor eyesight.
Truck
drivers who participated in the eye camp expressed their gratitude for the
much-needed medical attention. Many highlighted that the provision of free
eyeglasses would significantly impact their day-to-day activities, making their
jobs safer and more manageable.
This
eye camp is just one of the many initiatives by DBGT to support the health and
welfare of truck drivers. By addressing critical health issues and providing
necessary resources, DBGT continues to demonstrate its commitment to the
communities it serves and the people who are integral to its operations.
