Rajya Sabha
Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh attended the launch
ceremony of Rajya Sabha MP Bhim Singh’s latest book titled ’75
Great Revolutionaries of India’ on August 11.
Singh
praised the creative and inspiring work, stating, ‘Rajya Sabha MP Bhim
Singh has highlighted the contributions of lesser-known heroes.’ Singh
added that the MP had meticulously researched and compiled facts for this book,
among three others, celebrating the
sacrifices of unsung revolutionaries.
Singh
emphasized that the book serves as a source of inspiration for building a ‘Viksit
Bharat’ (Developed India). ‘Many historians have pointed out that
strength for the future is drawn from the past. This book’s stories of
75 revolutionaries fuel one’s spirit and ambition to contribute to
India’s development,’ said Singh.
Prime
Minister Narendra Modi also
paid tribute to freedom fighters, commemorating the Quit India Movement
led by Mahatma Gandhi. ‘Homage to all those who took part in the Quit
India Movement under Bapu’s leadership. It was truly a watershed
moment in our freedom struggle,’ PM Modi had posted.
The Quit
India Movement called for a non-violent mass protest, urging an ‘orderly
British withdrawal‘from India. Annually, the day is observed as August
Kranti Day.
