Discussing the Mundra
Port, Gautam Adani said that it is the largest commercial port in the country
equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and the largest terminal for coal
import.
Adani said
that in 1995, the Gujarat government had brought its first industrial plan
through a public-private partnership, in which special attention was paid to
the port. At that time global
commodity trader Cargill had contacted them. He had given a proposal for a
partnership for sourcing and manufacturing of salt from the Kutch region.
However, this partnership did not materialize and Adani were left with about
40,000 acres of marshy land.
