effort with the State and District Administration, the Port Trust organized a
meeting that brought together prominent tour operators and travel
companies to explore strategies for creating a tourism circuit in and around
Visakhapatnam, with a focus on attracting international cruise tourists.
During the meeting held on Tuesday, 3
Sep representatives from the Visakhapatnam Port Authority emphasized
the govt of India's vision to boost cruise tourism. They showcased the advanced infrastructure facilities available at the
Visakhapatnam International Cruise Terminal. The Port Authority also
highlighted Visakhapatnam's potential as a key destination for international
cruise liners, emphasizing the city's rich cultural heritage and scenic beauty.
Tour and
travel operators contributed valuable insights into the various tourist
attractions surrounding Visakhapatnam and provided suggestions to enhance the
overall tourist experience. The
discussions aimed at creating a comprehensive and appealing tourism package for
cruise tourists, which would not only promote tourism in Visakhapatnam but also
contribute economically to the City of Destiny.
The meeting concluded with all participants
pledging to work together closely to transform Visakhapatnam into a prime
destination for international cruise tourism, aligning with the broader vision
of sustainable and inclusive growth in the tourism sector. Sri Srinivas,
Regional Director of Andhra Pradesh Tourism, along with port officials and
private tourism operators, attended the meeting.
