Ferry
crossings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire and Liverpool have resumed
after disruption due to gales brought by Storm Ashley.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's sailings were
cancelled on Saturday 19 Oct night and throughout Sunday the island was hit by
gusts of up to 72mph (116km/h).
The
Manxman's morning sailing to Heysham left Douglas at 08:00 BST with the rest of
the days sailings set to go ahead as planned.
Flights
to and from the island, which saw a number of cancellations on Sunday due to
the weather, have also returned to normal schedules.
An amber weather warning was
in place for Saturday night, with a yellow weather warning in place from Sunday
afternoon into the early hours of Monday.
Barriers
remained in place in Ramsey and Castletown throughout the weekend to prevent
flooring around harbour areas at times of high tide.
