compared to the same month last year, suggesting that India has benefited from
the political unrest in Bangladesh. The
expansion coincides with a downturn in other nations that export clothing.
Bangladesh’s political unrest has helped India’s exports despite global
challenges like inflation and supply chain interruptions.
Some factories have been closed as a result of
socio-political upheaval in Bangladesh, one of the leading suppliers of
clothing worldwide.
According to a CareRatings analysis, “their
exporters could face challenges in ensuring on-time delivery if the
socio-political disturbances in Bangladesh persist for more than one or two
quarters.” “In such a scenario, India
could gain monthly export orders worth $200-250 million in the near term.”
The research went on to say that Indian exporters might permanently take market share away from Bangladesh through backward integration and operational savings.
