Bangladesh: All maritime ports asked to hoist signal-3

“Under the influence of the cyclone, gusty/squally winds are likely to affect the North Bay, maritime ports, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh,” the meteorological office said in a special weather bulletin. The ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been directed to hoist Local Cautionary Signal No. 3.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay and deep sea have been advised to seek shelter and remain there until Saturday morning.

Due to Cyclone Dana’s impact, Khulna Division has experienced heavy rainfall, with the meteorological office recording 76 millimeters of precipitation over the past 24 hours.

The Bangladesh government has taken precautionary measures in the coastal regions to prepare for the storm, according to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department reported that Dana has weakened into a cyclonic storm over northern coastal Odisha.
