“Under the influence of the cyclone, gusty/squally winds are likely to
affect the North Bay, maritime ports, and adjoining coastal areas of
Bangladesh,” the meteorological office said in a special weather bulletin. The ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar,
Mongla, and Payra have been directed to hoist Local Cautionary Signal No. 3.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay and deep sea have been
advised to seek shelter and remain there until Saturday morning.
Due to Cyclone Dana’s impact, Khulna Division has
experienced heavy rainfall, with the meteorological office recording 76
millimeters of precipitation over the past 24 hours.
The Bangladesh government has
taken precautionary measures in the coastal regions to prepare for the storm,
according to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department reported that Dana has
weakened into a cyclonic storm over northern coastal Odisha.
