The
global intracity same-day delivery firm Borzo, (erstwhile WeFast), has
announced the introduction of 3-wheeler and truck delivery service, marking an
expansion into a new market segment. This move aims to cater to larger
deliveries and enhance service flexibility for businesses across key metros.
The 3-wheeler
and truck delivery service will begin in Mumbai, with plans of expansion to
Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. By the end of 2024, Borzo aims to bring
1,500 couriers on board using a combination of 3-wheelers and Tata Aces. The
entry in the 3-wheeler delivery segment will enable Borzo to manage larger,
heavier shipments such as furniture, repair parts, and bulk grocery orders for
B2B clients.
The goal is to onboard 500 3 wheeler and truck deliveries
a day by 2025. This initiative
is part of Borzo’s broader strategy to capture a significant share of the B2B
logistics market, positioning itself as a flexible and cost-effective
alternative to existing players. Borzo’s approach is to offer a middle ground
in terms of cost and service speed, enhancing convenience and flexibility for
its clients.
“Borzo’s
new 3-wheeler and truck fleet is an addition which seamlessly integrates into
its existing operations, following the successful model of its 2-wheeler
deliveries,” reads the release.
Couriers
will continue to operate as gig-workers or as part of small fleets, managing
on-demand and end-of-day orders through Borzo’s application. Initially the
operations will consist of only traditional 3-wheelers, with plans to onboard
electric vehicle partners. The couriers,
who will own their vehicles, will be recruited as gig-workers, allowing them
the flexibility to manage their schedules while ensuring high operational
efficiency.
It
also reads, “In a bid to establish a strong foothold in the market, Borzo will aggressively
promote its new 3-wheeler and truck delivery service offering promo codes
ensuring that prices remain low for B2B clients.”
"Entering the 3-wheeler and Truck market is a
strategic decision driven by the evolving needs of businesses seeking more
versatile and cost-effective delivery solutions. Since the demand for heavier and more massive cargo
shipments continues to rise, we could not handle all these shipments with our
two-wheeler fleet alone. By involving 3-wheelers into our operations, we are
not only enhancing our capacity to handle diverse delivery requirements but
also positioning ourselves as a comprehensive logistics partner that can scale
with our client’s growth. We plan to
have at least 500 deliveries per day from our 3-wheeler segment by 2025.The
expansion in this new segment will help us strengthen our B2B business and
expand our market presence,” said Alina Kisina, CEO, Borzo.
