Faster transportation of containers between Chennai Port and Other areas of TN ; Remarkable Steps taken by Chennai Port

CONCOR, in association with Indian Railways and Chennai Port Authority, flagged off the Inaugural “TVS GO GREEN EXPRESS” container train with Direct Port Entry (DPE) Export containers of M/s TVS Motor Company facilitated by M/s TVS SCS Global Freight Solutions Ltd from Jolarpet (JTJ) to Kamarajar Port Ltd, Ennore on November 28, 2024.

Total 29 FEUs (58 TEUs) of M/s TVS Motors bound to African nations with a mix of auto commodities with an  average weight of 20 MT were loaded from Jolarpet to KPCA.

This event marks a significant step for faster transportation of containers between Chennai Ports and the catchment areas of Northern Tamil Nadu, Hosur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Bangalore, Southern Karnataka regions, Mysore etc.

The First Mile connectivity for the movement of M/s TVS Motors was also carried out by CONCOR owned *LNG vehicles* and this multi-modal transportation of Road (LNG vehicles) and Rail is a contribution to the Green Logistics initiatives of GoI and CONCOR.

The entire movement has been a testimony of CONCOR's commitment in providing a cost effective multi modal logistics option to the trade thereby providing faster logistics with a congestion free entry into ports and improving the port efficiencies by reducing the bottlenecks at the port gates.
