DP World, a leading global
provider of smart, end-to-end supply chain logistics and one of India’s largest
private rail freight operators, has announced the launch of its latest rail-led
multimodal service, SARAL-3, connecting Gandhidham in Gujarat to the National
Capital Region (NCR).
This new weekly service, a part of the ‘Sustainable, Assured, Reliable, and
Agile Logistics’ (SARAL) rail-freight initiative, builds on the success of
SARAL and SARAL-2, which connects South Gujarat and Chennai to NCR
respectively. These services highlight DP World’s commitment to delivering
efficient, sustainable, and customer-focused rail-freight solutions that
strengthen India’s multimodal logistics ecosystem.
SARAL-3 caters to the evolving
needs of businesses by offering a combination of speed, precision, and
reliability. As
part of this newly launched weekly rail service, a dedicated container train
will commence from Bhimasar, Gandhidham every weekend. It will reach
Pali-Rewari, Haryana within three days and also provide an option to reach
Panipat or Modinagar Inland Container Depot (ICD) within six days thereby,
providing businesses assured transit time for their cargo at the start of the
week. This service is digitally enabled with advanced real-time tracking
technology, which streamlines operations and provides complete visibility of
cargo to the customers. With unmatched first and last mile delivery support by
DP World’s trucking solutions, SARAL-3 is an integrated door-to-door logistics
service, offering businesses a simplified cost-effective end-to-end solution
for their supply chain requirements. Speaking
on the launch of the new SARAL-3 service, Adhendru Jain, Vice President, Rail
and Inland Terminals, DP World Subcontinent, said, “At DP World, we focus on
reimagining logistics with a customer first approach. SARAL-3, connecting
Gandhidham to the National Capital Region, reflects our commitment to creating
seamless, multimodal solutions that deliver at pace and with precision that
modern businesses expect. By integrating sustainability into every step of our
operations and investing in future-ready infrastructure, we are empowering
businesses to access newer markets in a rapidly evolving trade environment.”
DP World has more than 100
owned container rakes and Special Freight Train Operator (SFTO) rakes, over 16
thousand owned containers, and trailers for last-mile delivery. In December 2024, DP World
commissioned a third rail line at its Pali-Rewari terminal in Haryana, which
elevated the terminal’s monthly freight handling capacity by 25%. This enhanced rail solution aligns with
the company’s commitment to its sustainability goals by reducing CO2 emissions
by up to 70 percent.
DP
World is one of the leading integrated logistics solution providers, driving
India’s logistics transformation with its rail terminals in Pali, Modinagar,
Panipat, Hazira, Hindaun, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad. These terminals offer
traders unique rail solutions, unlocking greater market access.
DP World also provides its
customers a certificate, supported by its carbon emissions calculator,
detailing the amount of CO2 emissions saved by moving their cargo via the
SARAL-3 service.
