Arrival of “m.v. Hebridean Sky” Cruise Ship at Chennai Port

In line with Chennai Port’s vision of promoting international cruise tourism and strengthening global collaborations, the Bahamas-flagged cruise ship m.v. Hebridean Sky, owned by London-based Noble Caledonia, arrived at Chennai Port on 17th February 2025. The vessel, carrying 76 crew members and 92 passengers, sailed from Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, and is scheduled to depart for Trincomalee on 18th February 2025.

Designed to operate in diverse global locations, the m.v. Hebridean Sky accommodates up to 120 passengers in 59 luxurious cabins. The vessel features a spacious lounge and dining area, ensuring all passengers can be accommodated simultaneously. Additionally, the ship offers world-class facilities, including a swimming pool and nightclub, enhancing the onboard experience.

As part of their visit, the embarking passengers have been provided with an exclusive tour itinerary organized by leading tour operators. The itinerary includes visits to prominent cultural and historical landmarks such as Santhome Basilica, Kapaleeswarar Temple, Fort St. George Museum, Government Museum and Marina Beach.

Shri Sunil Paliwal, I.A.S., Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority, emphasized Chennai Port’s rich historical significance and its pivotal role in promoting international cruise tourism in India, further highlighted the features of the modernized Cruise Terminal, along with various facilitation measures undertaken by the Central and State Governments, in making Chennai an attractive destination for international cruise vessels. With the active support of vessel agent M/s. J.M. Baxi Marine Services Pvt. Ltd. and other key stakeholders, Chennai Port continues to establish itself as a preferred hub for global cruise tourism.
