The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety
(CMRS) has conducted final inspections for the priority corridor (Gandhi
Nagar-Super corridor-3) under the Indore metro project phase I. Following
which, the final clearance is now awaited from CMRS for commercial operations.
The
inspections involved examining the construction quality, signalling mechanisms,
telecommunication systems, etc. to ensure that they met safety standards. It
also involved testing the speed, braking system and power supply for smooth
commercial operations.
The Indore metro project involves the
development of a metro rail transit system comprising a ring line of length
31.55 km at an estimated cost of Rs 75 billion.
