Container Terminal (SCT), part of the Gallozzi Group, has ordered a Konecranes
Gottwald ESP.10 Mobile Harbor Crane with an external power supply to support a
port modernization project. The order was booked in Q1 2025 and handover is
scheduled for Q4 2025...It’s
also designed to operate with a twin-lift spreader.
“The new crane will
significantly reduce loading and unloading times for the latest generation of
ships. At the same time, we’re improving the eco-efficiency of our operations
and setting an example for electrification across the broader region,” says Agostino
Gallozzi, Chairman of the Gallozzi Group. SCT first began using Konecranes
Gottwald Mobile Harbor Cranes in 1990.
This
latest deal is part of a EUR 10 million terminal renewal project, including
equipment and infrastructure investments to support the transition to
lower-emission container handling. SCT is aiming to be the most eco-efficient
terminal in the Mediterranean.
This
contract is part of Ecolifting, Konecranes’ vision to increase its handprint –
meaning the beneficial environmental impact that can be achieved with our
product and service portfolio – while reducing customers’ carbon footprints.
From eco-optimizing diesel drives, to hybridization and fully-electrified
fleets, we will continue to do more with less
“The Gallozzi Group’s
commitment to electrification and digitization aligns perfectly with
Konecranes’ strategy for eco-efficient and modernized terminal operations,”
says Giuseppe Di Lisa, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Konecranes Mobile
Harbor Cranes. A strong focus on customers and commitment to business growth
and continuous improvement make Konecranes a material handling industry leader.
